A huge thank you to all of our collectors and followers for your support this year! We’re looking back on 2024 with Sarah Morris’ ‘Lunar’ editions, a series of 12 screenprints depicting the months of the Lunar cycle.

We will be closed for the holidays from the end of the day on 20 December, reopening 2 January 2025.

We look forward to sharing some exciting new projects we have been working on in the New Year. Our next exhibition will be at the London Original Print Fair at Somerset House in March.

Now open: ‘Solid Gold’ at the Brooklyn Museum ✨

‘Solid Gold’ explores the legacy and influence of gold as a source of inspiration in art, design, fashion, film and music. It features Marc Quinn’s ‘Siren’ (2008), a solid 18-carat-gold sculpture from his series of work depicting supermodel Kate Moss in contorted yoga poses.

Published by Manifold Editions in 2012, Marc Quinn’s ‘Sphinx’ editions derive from this iconic sculpture series. Quinn’s detailed screenprints use 12 colours and a silkscreen glaze to portray a three-dimensional image of the sculpture, hand finished in a choice of gold or silver leaf. Published in 2013, ‘Stealth Kate’ was created for Wallpaper* magazine’s 2013 ‘Handmade’ exhibition in Milan. For this iteration Quinn selected the digital print process to accentuate the tones of the image, brilliantly sharpened with a black diamond dust background. Quinn describes: “This is not a portrait of a person, it’s a portrait of an image twisted by our collective desires.”

Now open: ‘Gavin Turk: The Age of Entanglement’ at Reflex Amsterdam, Netherlands, until 25 January 2025.

‘The Age of Entanglement’ explores consumer culture and probes the idea of packaging as a ‘disposable’ entity. In what Gavin Turk refers to as “an exercise in self-portraiture”, the artist questions the ephemerality of everyday products – apple cores, matchboxes, bottles – by rendering them as traditional still life subjects, harnessing a restricted tonal palette against monochrome backgrounds.

Bradley Theodore on our stand this week at Art Miami 🧑‍🎨

We’re excited to be showing Bradley Theodore’s ‘Unique Eternal Queen (Cardinal Red)’ on our stand. Set against a vibrant cardinal red background, the work encapsulates the artist’s complex, textured painting style by overlaying gestural acrylic strokes on his Eternal Queen edition. Almost a wholly hand-painted surface, bursts of colour communicate with one another to enhance the multiple layers of the relief printing process. Theodore depicts the Queen in an expressive, graphic style, using highly saturated pigments while hinting at her skeleton underneath; a recurring theme in Theodore’s works through which he intends to “portray the energy, individuality and soul of the person”.

On display for the first time: Harland Miller’s ‘Tonight We Make History’ (P.S. I can’t be there), Pink, Blue, Orange & Lilac’ (2024) this week at Art Miami.

Printed in four new colourways, ‘Tonight We Make History (P.S. I can’t be there), Pink, Blue, Orange & Lilac’ (2024) is created using an extremely labour-intensive process, layering multiple etching plates with silver chine collé and hand finishing by the print studio. Miller says, “Though we might not think so, we still respond to colour in a primal way – as I said, that’s a way that you’re not necessarily conscious of. That’s what I love about this series of prints we’ve been making…”

On display is our most recent series with Boo Saville, ‘Palindrome (Illi, Amma, Ecce, Oro)’ (2024), making its Art Miami debut. In the series, Saville explores how blurred geometrical lines, formed in symmetry, can present new ways of accessing colour through perfectly balanced, soft blends. Saville describes: “I am endlessly fascinated by colour relationships – how they play with each other, and how we interpret this from day to day.”

Now open: ‘George Shaw - Albion Groans - Part One’ at Anthony Wilkinson Gallery.

On until 11 January 2025, the exhibition features recent paintings and watercolours by George Shaw that seek mythology in everyday suburban life, drawing inspiration from William Blake’s epic poem ‘Jerusalem’.

Shaw says, “Each painting in the exhibition is a little groan really. For how things have turned out and are turning out. It sounds less bleak than you’d first think because painting goes on and continues as an act of resistance to the mess we make of life around us and times inevitable and dreadful work. As Blake says elsewhere in ‘Jerusalem’, ‘Continually building, continually decaying’.”

The restaurant features an inventive seasonal menu where you can dine surrounded by Sarah Morris’s ‘Lunar’ series: a set of 12 screenprints depicting each month of the Lunar cycle during the global pandemic in 2020 – a period when time seemed to lose all meaning. Also displayed are a selection of George Shaw’s editions, including hand-coloured lithograph ‘The Wrong Way’ (2019).

Miller says, “Y’know the text, people tell me, works for them on a personal level – and making the work in different colourways adds to that personal interpretation. ’Least I imagine it does. It does for me, anyway; and much as I love them, I don’t tend to make these works anymore – I haven’t for a long time actually – but I like to revisit the series through prints. Though saying that, I have no plans to make any more after this, and actually, come to think of it, there’s something in the title ‘Tonight We Make History’ that somehow reflects that.”
